WonderHall Presents...

A Series of Special Gigs Supporting Lancashire Artists

Lancashire’s newest music festival is celebrating rising talent and the return of live music with a series of special gigs.

WonderHall Presents will see live performances take place at the HMV store in Blackpool from this Saturday (July 31) with all artists performing local to the Lancashire coast.

Working in partnership with HMV, WonderHall bosses are hoping the gigs will showcase the talent of the Fylde while heralding the return of live music.

WonderHall Presents line-up:

Sat July 31 – Daisy Atkinson

Sat Aug 14 – Emily Rhodes

Sat Aug 21 – HOL

The six-day WonderHall festival taking place in the grounds of Lytham Hall is presented by the team behind the hugely popular and successful Lytham Festival.

Director Peter Taylor said: “The entire entertainment industry has experienced the most horrendous 18 months and for those artists who rely on local gigs it has been devastating as they just haven’t been able to reach their audience in the same way.

WonderHall Presents gives us the ideal opportunity to showcase those artists and help them reach an audience they wouldn’t ordinarily be exposed to.

“Live music is back and should be celebrated with every chance, so we are delighted to be partnering with HMV Blackpool to support these local performers.”

WonderHall Presents will kick off with Blackpool-based singer/songwriter Daisy Atkinson this Saturday. Daisy regularly performs at venues across the resort including Bootleg Social, The Galleon and Dirty Blondes.

They will be followed by Kirkham-based singer/songwriter Emily Rhodes on Saturday August 14. Emily has supported a number of artists at Blackpool’s Bootleg Social and Preston’s The Ferret as well as busking across the UK.

The closing WonderHall Presents will see Blackpool’s HOL perform. HOL (aka Hollie Findlay) is a singer/songwriter and producer who splits her time between the UK and Greece and has performed across Europe.

HMV Manager Neil Carpenter said: “Without local musicians and rising talent we would have no music scene. Blackpool and the Fylde coast has an abundance of talent so it is great to work with WonderHall to support them.

“All the artists scheduled for WonderHall Presents have their own very unique style and I’m looking forward to seeing them perform.”

All WonderHall Presents gigs at HMV will begin at 1pm.

Following WonderHall Presents, WonderHall runs from Wednesday 25 to Monday August 30 with headliners Tom Jones, Anne-Marie, Russell Watson, Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro and Marc Almond.
